Dallas Thai Massage
Q: How do I know this modality is right for me?
A; You struggle with stretching, refuse to do yoga, and just want somebody else to do it for you or you’e a huge fan of CrossFit. Hi. We see you. We love you. You need to stretch.
At our clinic we add table thai elements into most orthopedic massages. Unless you’re hypermobile. Then, Gumby, we probably won’t be stretching you more.
Begun over 2,500 years ago by a friend to the Buddha, Thai Massage has it’s roots in at the great crossroads of the East. Any day on the streets of Thailand you can still find men and women with their mat ready to receive a client. While fully clothed, he is stretched, rocked, twisted, and turned, receiving deep pressure from thumbs, knees, elbows, and feet. Often called the “yoga” of manual therapy this modality is renown for being one of the deepest and possibly even the most painful of bodywork. It doesn’t have to be painful but it is not for the faint of heart.
At Sports & Orthopedic, LLC we integrate Thai Massage movements on the table, with stretching being done on clients who wear shorts and a t-shirt. The sen lines are accessed most easily through clothing. Pressing, pushing, and kneading all serve to not only relax the client in a deeply profound way but to render them more flexible than when they arrived.
